LOS ANGELES — James Deen will speak at University of Wisconsin in Madison this Thursday as part of the school's Sexual Health Fest.

“I love going to college campuses and opening up a dialogue with students about the role of pornography in society,” Deen said. “I believe educating people about pornography — what it is, the purpose for it, and its relationship with modern sex education – helps teach individuals to achieve personal growth and self-discovery.”
Deen continued, “In my opinion, dispelling the shame many associate with sex, by teaching people to communicate with a partner safely and explore personal desires with consent, can only lead to healthy sexuality. Thank you to the students of UW-Madison for inviting me to be a part of their Sexual Health Fest.”
Sex Out Loud Program Coordinator Sam Johnson remarked, "As an organization dedicated to promoting healthy sexuality through sex-positive education and activism, we are delighted to be welcoming James Deen as our keynote speaker for this year's Sexual Health Fest."
The University of Wisconsin’s student paper, the Badger Herald, profiled Deen earlier in April. To read the article, click here.
In addition to the University of Wisconsin appearance, Deen also addressed students this year at Washington University St. Louis and Pasadena City College, Deen’s alma mater.
Deen recently won Male Performer of the Year honors at the 2013 XBIZ Awards, and is featured in the upcoming mainstream film from Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis, "The Canyons," with Lindsay Lohan. He is producing a new mainstream steampunk production, "Cowboys and Engines," which is being funded through Kickstarter, and continues to work as an adult performer and director.
Sex Week is a campus activity at University of Wisconsin - Madison and is open to enrolled students only. “A Night With James Deen: Pornography & Sex Ed,” presented by Sex Out Loud, is at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 1310 in Sterling Hall. Admission is free.
