Stockroom.com Launches Gay Site

LOS ANGELES — Bondage gear retail site Stockroom.com has launched GayStockroom.com, an all-male version of its site.

The site, which is already up and running, was launched in response to customer feedback, according to Stockroom.com founder Joel Tucker, who sees the gay version of the site as a continuation of his original retail vision, which began in 1987 with the JT’s Stockroom store in Los Angeles.

“Since Day 1, our company has been 100 percent committed to being open and friendly to all orientations, in every aspect of our operations — product selection, marketing, purchasing and hiring,” Tucker said.

The GayStockroom site features pictures of male models and porn stars showing off BDSM/fetish gear and toys sold through the site.

While the site was designed with gay customers in mind, Tucker expects that women also will access the site, basing his beliefs on company surveys that indicate female interest in an all-male site.

Despite Tucker’s feelings that different genders may prefer different versions of the site, consumers won’t have to choose between the sites, he said. Shopping carts on both sites are linked so users can shop both sites interchangeably, adding items to their carts and Wishlists from either site, according to Tucker.

Stockroom affiliates earn 10-25 percent payouts on sales. Webmaster referrals earn an additional five percent.
