TheContentStore.com offers licensed movies pre-encoded for Windows Media Player or Real Player. The company also can encode all content at three different bit rates to accommodate fast or slow connection speeds.
TheContentStore.com has been in negotiations with Nectar for the past two months about a licensing deal and finally reached an agreement.
“Without a doubt, [Nectar and 1st Strike have] some of the hottest releases from 2005 and 2006, covering a multitude of popular niches,” TheContentStore.com’s Jonathan Silverstein said.
For the initial release of the company’s titles, Nectar has licensed 36 titles and 1st Strike has licensed 33. TheContentStore.com expects to add 4-5 new titles per month.
1st Stike is known for its niche-oriented, wall-to-wall productions, while Nectar Entertainment also maintains a hard edge with Marty Zion-directed vignette movies. Nectar has been nominated for more than 10 industry awards for its DVDs.
“I know Nectar and 1st Strike have received a lot of accolades,” Silverstein told XBIZ. “Nectar likes to apply cool, almost MTV-style camerawork to its erotica. They separated themselves in my eyes through their production values.”
Silverstein believes the acquisition and the ability of webmasters to use Nectar/1st Strike movies in their members areas, gives them a unique ability to capitalize on the studio’s sought-after content.
“Our goal is to assist webmasters in garnering the highest retention levels possible by providing top-quality studios and content that cannot be found elsewhere,” Silverstein said. “This is our way of differentiating our DVD licensing company from other content providers.”
