PARIS — Europe is no stranger to public porn shoots what with studios like Kink.com, Private Media and others shooting on Czech Republic streets, public buses, tourist landmarks, as well as a number of Mediterranean islands.
But now the ancient catacombs of Paris have become a hotbed of adult locations according to a report in the New York Daily News.
The caretakers at Musée Carnavalet, which manages the historic underground caves said photographers, filmmakers, and talent are sneaking into the catacombs on a daily basis to shoot porn among the 6 million skeletons.
One U.S. photographer, Miru Kim reportedly shot herself nude on a pile of bones for her 2008 "Naked City Spleen" project.
Shooting in the caves has become so prevalent it’s forced the creation of a “catacombs police team” on the lookout for adult teams.
But it’s apparently not affecting the porn creators who are relentless in their zeal to shoot in the caves.
“Every day, they [the caretakers] say, they reject requests to film saucy clips on the premises — leading many of the budding stars to disguise themselves as tourists to get past the guards,” the News reported.
"As soon as the coast is clear the girls strip off, the crew films without any fuss, and they leave, unseen and unnoticed,” a tourist told Le Parisien.
