VAN NUYS, Calif. — Vantage Distribution is now shipping DreamZone Entertainment's "Barb Wire XXX," a spoof of the 1996 movie adaptation of the Dark Horse Comic.
“We’re thrilled to begin shipping ‘Barb Wire XXX: A DreamZone Parody' out to retail," DreamZone Entertainment Vice President Adam Hasner said.
"Our initial orders have been exceedingly strong, and the feedback from both buyers and reviewers has been exceptionally positive."
"Barb Wire" follows the adventures of Barbara Kopetski, an adrenaline junkie working part-time as a mercenary to keep her bar open for business in the apocalyptic town of Steel Harbor.
Britney Amber toplines the film as Barb Wire — famously played by Pamela Anderson in the original. Hired by concerned parents to rescue their runaway daughter from a prostitution ring, Barb sets out on a mission that could lay her out flat.
"There’s an incredible buzz in the marketplace and great fan anticipation for the movie’s release," Hasner said. "We did some mainstream marketing, targeting comic book and ‘geek’ websites. Retailers should definitely position ‘Barb Wire XXX' on their new release wall and end-caps to meet what we’re confident will be solid out-of-the-box sales.”
"Barb Wire: A DreamZone Parody" is written and directed by Van Anderson ("MacGyver XXX") and co-stars Jayden Jaymes, Gigi Loren, Raylene, Holly Michaels, Billy Glide, Ralph Long, Earl Slate, Derrick Pierce and Evan Stone.
It streets March 19.
