LOS ANGELES — VividTV, the linear channel and VOD services division of Vivid Entertainment, announced today the appointment of David Guerra as senior vice president of distribution and marketing for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Guerra comes to Vivid with more than 15 years of experience and solid international credentials in the television and telecommunications industry. He will be based in Miami and report directly to Ken Boenish, the company’s global president.
“Bringing in top executives with an established career in the industry is a key to VividTV’s expansion in the international market,” Boenish said. “We are confident David’s experience will enable us to develop our business in Latin America rapidly and position VividTV as the brand that offers the region exclusive and award-winning multi-platform adult content.”
Guerra will lead a team of professionals in Miami and cities across Latin America working to increase the presence of VividTV’s product portfolio in the region. The company’s products include an adult linear channel, a broad range of VOD content, and the Vivid Celeb line of adult videos featuring celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Kendra Wilkinson and Kim Kardashian.
Before joining the VividTV team, Guerra was vice president of distribution for Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula for The Erotic Networks. In this capacity, he directed and supervised all of the company’s activities in the region, including content sales and distribution; affiliate services, marketing, and commercial partner relations. Previously he was director of sales at DLA, the leader in content distribution for on demand services in Latin America, where he was responsible for defining and implementing long-term sales and commercial partner strategies.
Earlier, Guerra served as affiliate sales director at NBC Universal and spent three years in charge of Latin American distribution for the Hallmark Channel. He pursued a successful career in telecommunications, developing long-distance products for his own company, Alliance Telecom Services Inc., until its sale in 1999.
Guerra has a degree in Telecommunications Sciences from the University of Lima, Peru. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
VividTV also offers Latin American audiences Vivid SuperXXXHeroes, adult parody versions of comic characters such as Superman XXX, Spider-Man XXX, The Avengers XXX and more.
In addition, Vivid’s portfolio of almost 20 years includes classics as “Ginger” and “Fade to Black” to “Throat: A Cautionary Tale." Although only recently launched in the U.S., the company said it is already available on leading pay TV systems and currently reaches more than 25 million subscribers.
