LOS ANGELES — Rock artists Glenn Danzig and Max Cavalera are lending their creative talents to producer and director Thomas Mignone's as-of-yet untitled biopic on Golden Age porn star Vanessa Del Rio.
Danzig will cameo as a "violent thug" in the film, described by producers as a cross between "Boogie Nights" and "Taxi Driver." Cavalera, known for fronting Soulfly and Brazil's Sepultura, is composing the project's music.
Mignone is a music video director who has helmed videos for Danzig, Sepultura, Soulfly, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Cradle of Filth and System of a Down, among others. He makes his feature film debut with Del Rio's biopic.
Mignone is producing the film, which he also wrote, through his company DOOM Incorporated. Del Rio and Bill Margold serve as consultants on the project, which follows Del Rio's porn star exploits in mob-riddled Times Square during the '70s and '80s.
