TEXAS — A newly opened Condom Sense store in the city of Plano is proving that safe sex can be a dangerous trade.
Owner Mike Edwards found that out on Tuesday when condom-hating criminals shot up his storefront in a drive-by.
Edwards opened the Condom Sense store in January to enraged public protest from locals upset by the business' sexual nature.
"We never thought about how much some people have a lot of hate... and they want to do something about it," Edwards told CBS 11.
Edwards expressed concerned to CBS over the safety of his sales people, noting that "some bullets went all the way to the back of the store and it could have hit one of those employees."
He also told CBS that he had received threatening emails since the store's opening.
Edwards is cooperating with police and hopes surveillance video will lead to an arrest. He reports damages to the store to be in the thousands of dollars.
