LONDON — Secret Passion reports an unexpected Valentine's Day sales surge with record numbers of male masturbators leading the way.
The company said that while typical Valentine’s gifts did still prove to be popular, sales of men’s fleshlights in particular almost doubled during the months of January and February, much to the surprise of the stock control staff at the U-K-based company.
Products from the Fleshlight Girls range saw strong sales in the few weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day. Fleshlights from this collection have been molded to imitate the intimate parts of some of the adult industry’s most renowned stars, including Jenna Swallow and Riley Steele.
“We were shocked to see such a trend emerge in the first quarter of 2013, but this unexpected sales surge clearly proves that many of us aren’t succumbing to the pressure of Valentine’s Day anymore and are perfectly happy to spend some quality time alone with an exciting new product instead,” a company representative said.
“We noted a slight increase in sales of our designer vibes, too, so it seems women are also keen to buck the trend and choose self-indulgence over spoiling that special someone.”
He said that it wasn't just Valentine's Day that attributed to the higher sales.
“We could of course have seen such an increase in sales thanks to a heightened awareness of the Secret Passion brand. We have been focusing on raising the profile of our extensive fleshlights collection in recent months, so the recent popularity of these products could be more than just coincidental.”
The company’s range of products, including fleshlights, dildos and Rabbit vibrators can be found here.
