ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — OC Weekly took its hat off to what it called “the 20 greatest ‘entreporneurs’ in Orange County history” in a special tribute to adult stars who called the region home at some time in their careers.
Calling the region “America’s Porn Paradise” second only to the San Fernando Valley, the newspaper said, “Orange County is one of America's epicenters of the multibillion-dollar industry, an area that has produced stars for decades, that continues to lure actors and actresses for shoots or to settle for a bit of the good life. But you'll never see their full stories in polite publications, perhaps because it's easier to detail how people made their fortunes in construction and spreadsheets instead of explaining the finer points of an anal double-penetration while sucking off a 12-inch schlong and beating off two other schlubs.”
Despite its tongue-in-cheek portrayal, the paper lauded performers with savvy business acumen — some who are household names, while others are veterans or hardly known — who’ve created lucrative franchises and lasting businesses.
Even porn newbie Nadya “Octomom” Suleman was thrown into the mix.
In reverse order beginning with number 20 in what appears to be no particular order of importance are: Carmella Bing, Jillian Foxxx, Devinn Lane, Billy Glide, Candy Apples, Sandra Scream, Amber Lynn, Dani Daniels, Janine Lindemulder, Aurora Snow, Jelena Jensen, Savannah, Michael Brandon, Lupe Fuentes, Eva Angelina, Tasha Reign, Jenna Jameson, Peter North, Jenna Haze and Nadya Suleman.
The article talks about stars’ success and some intimate personal tidbits including some who’ve made adult history like Amber Lynn. “And at the height of her career, Lynn did what few others dared: She appeared publicly at AIDS fund-raisers in an era when even few mainstream actors were doing so. Many starlets of her generation left that life forever, but as with her pal Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn made a comeback via MILF porn in recent years.”
More contemporary stars like Lupe Fuentes and Tasha Reign were described as well. “She shot to nationwide fame thanks to multiple appearances on The Howard Stern Show, for which she sat on the Sybian (essentially a vibrator saddle) for a live broadcast,” OC Weekly said of Fuentes.
Reign, who was a cast member of the 2006 season of “Laguna Beach: The Real O.C.” got props for becoming “ a sex-world sensation, with a "Girls of the Pac-10" feature in Playboy; starring roles in more than 50 films for all the major, modern-day houses (Vivid, Brazzers, Wicked); and earning Penthouse Pet of the Month honors for 2011. More impressive, however, is her business acumen: At 24, Reign produces, directs and even writes most of her newer films and maintains an active website for those who can't get enough of her beach-bunny looks.”
Each selected OC ex-pat also include a brief filmography.
