AbbyWinters.com CEO Garion Hall Speaks at LIFT Conference

GENEVA — Garion Hall, CEO of AbbyWinters.com spoke at this year’s technology, culture and media LIFT conference in Geneva, held Feb. 6-8, spotlighting adult's social impact on technology and media.

Hall was invited to offer the oft-overlooked perspective of adult in the session “Innovation Drivers: XXX” that was called the “strongest creative industry nobody talks about.” Hall described the event as “kind of like an EU TED conference, but as it's younger, it can be a little more flexible with its format.”

Intended as an independent vehicle to agitate, educate, and organize, the conference has been held annually since 2006. Alongside MIT researcher Kate Darling, and Heather Kelley of OhMiBod.com, Hall's fetaured session focused on the part the adult industry plays on the social impact of technology and media.

“I sometimes speak at adult industry conferences, but this is my first cross-over speaking gig,” explained Hall. “I think there a lot the adult industry has to share. It tends to have rapid prototyping of new business models, driven by the lowest costs, and lots of AB testing to find the perfect mix.”

The executive's session description said, “In LIFT's tradition of innovation by cross-pollination we will explore what businesses can learn from one of the most profitable industries on earth: the adult entertainment industry. Not only did X-rated content bring us streaming video, online payment and perhaps one third of all Internet traffic, but it’s also a role model in terms of business innovation while broadly eschewing legal patronage. From personalized experience goods to the sophisticated use of free content and an emerging class of entirely new devices and interaction models, there’s a lot to learn from the strongest creative industry that nobody ever talks about.”

Getting his “geek” on Hall also noted that “…I am also super excited about seeing the Large Hadron Collider (the speakers are getting private tour).”

Hall's conference bio described him as “Casual, relaxed but packing some contentious views of the adult industry, Garion enjoys talking about effecting social change, corporate responsibility, and systemizing workflows in the adult industry.”
