LONDON — Atsuko Kudo fetishwear, which has graced bodies from Lady Gaga to Brooklyn Lee, is now being featured in Harmony director Scarlett Revell's upcoming film "Sex in Venice."
Based in London, Revell first teamed with Tokyo's Kudo — who collaborated with Lady Gaga for New York Fashion Week's first latex runway show — in 2012's "Mind Fuck," which featured Brooklyn Lee in a latex Kudo creation.
"Atsuko makes clothing that looks as good on a woman as coming off," Revell said. "Brooklyn Lee's dress in 'Mind Fuck' got [Harmony] more fan mail from women than any outfit we've ever featured in our movies, so 'Sex in Venice' is going to be very, very sexy.
"I know what I like to watch," Revell said. "And we can have movies in which women are just as dirty as they are elegant. Atsuko's dresses are perfect for this."
Born in Brooklyn, Revell became a Harmony director last year, crafting hardcore scenes that combine European style, American spirit, and international appeal. "Sex in Venice" will be her first production in Italy.
While latex may have a permanent place in the fetish community, Revell and Kudo say its mystery is particularly appealing in Revell's hardcore productions.
"Latex is like a second skin," Kudo said. "But there are so many things you don't know. I like this challenge."
"Sex in Venice" begins shooting this April in villas along the Venice canals. It will be released by Harmony this summer.
