Director Fred Lincoln Passes Away

LOS ANGELES — Fred Lincoln, director of more than 300 adult films and producer and performer in several dozen others dating back to the early 1970s, has died at 75.

Lincoln's daughter Angelica confirmed his passing on adultfyi.com today.

"Hello everyone that knew and loved my dad," she wrote. "This is his daughter, Angelica, speaking on his behalf. As many of you already know, his health has been declining rapidly during the past few months and today he passed.

"He was a fighter during the entire struggle, just like he was his entire life. I just wanted to update all of you that have been wondering on his condition and wanted to let you all know he loved you all very much. I've heard stories about nearly every one of you and want you to know he left peacefully. Thank you for all your love and support."

Widely credited with helping to start the hardcore porn scene in his native New York in the early 70s, Lincoln's career spanned parts of four decades in the adult entertainment business. He would become known as F.J. Lincoln in film credits. According to his IMDb profile, he directed 320 adult films and performed in more than 60.

Lincoln also notably played "Weasel" in Wes Craven's 1972 mainstream film "Last House on the Left."

The news of Lincoln's death hit Twitter on Thursday, as several people who knew him paid their respects.

The Evil Angel Video Twitter feed posted, "A legend of adult movies has shuffled off this mortal coil. Respect, condolences and love for Fred F.J. Lincoln, his family and his friends."

Veteran performer/producer Tom Byron tweeted, "One of the greats has passed. RIP Fred Lincoln. Many fun times with him traveling the world. I will miss you Freddy."

Publicist Daniel Metcalf also expressed his condolences via Twitter. "Was my honor to work as the Great Man's publicist when he directed for @WickedPictures," Metcalf said.

Performer Katie Morgan tweeted that Lincoln was, "The coolest man I ever knew."
