LOS ANGELES — A preview clip promoting director Paul Schrader and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis' new indie-drama "The Canyons" has gone online.
The clip features leads Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen engaged in a violent morning-after scuffle, set off by accusations of infidelity.
Deen plays arrogant film producer Christian in the film. Lohan is his girlfriend Tara, a former model willing to subject herself to his abuse for the comforts he provides.
"The Canyons" is currently being shopped for distribution. It was snubbed from this year's Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off this week in Utah.
Deen, who was named Male Performer of the Year and Crossover Star of the Year at the 2013 XBIZ Awards Show, was handpicked by Ellis ("American Psycho") to star in "The Canyons."
"The Canyons" is produced by Braxton Pope ("Penny Dreadful") and costars Nolan Funk ("House at the End of the Street"), Amanda Brooks ("Chillerama") and director Gus Van Sant ("Milk," "Good Will Hunting").
