Black Widow Talent is a division of Black Widow Production and is run by Ric Williams, former owner of mainstream film agency Talent Management. The company officially launched on July 1, but Williams also comes from an established career in the adult industry as chief operating officer for Private North America and director of sales and marketing for Metro Studios.
“My focus for the mainstream market is to let producers and directors know that these girls and guys have a huge fan base that comes with them and that targets the 18-50-year-old male demographic,” Williams told XBIZ.
Williams and Black Widow Talent will represent Daniels for mainstream films only; however, he also works with a roster of actresses looking for adult work as well.
Williams said his plan with Daniels is to first launch a publicity campaign through Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, followed by a direct mailing to a list of Hollywood directors and producers, introducing Black Widow Talent and Daniels. Williams also will be doing a daily search through a listing service called “the breakdowns” in which all roles being cast in mainstream films are listed per project and role type to find one that is suitable for Daniels and his other clients.
“The lines have been getting closer and closer with mainstream and porn,” Williams said. “My goal is to get more girls into mainstream and to have the mainstream directors and producers not be afraid to cast them, since many girls in adult have a lot more experience in front of the camera than a lot of mainstream girls.”
Daniels, who is best known for her award-winning role in “Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre,” which she also co-wrote, has been under contract with Wicked Pictures for the past four years. Daniels also is known for directing films such as “One Night in Vegas” and others.
“I am looking forward to working with Black Widow to help expand my mainstream exposure," Daniels said. "I believe that this will be a successful and mutually beneficial partnership, and I cannot wait to get started."
