Video: Chanel Preston Simpatico With Happy, Healthy Porn Star Study

LOS ANGELES — Adult star Chanel Preston made it clear on international TV that she’s a happy, healthy and successful porn star.

In an interview with the English-language TV broadcast channel RT TV about the recent Journal of Sex Research report on the psychological health of porn stars, Preston was in agreement with the bulk of the report’s findings and said she is very comfortable with who she is and what she does.

Preston also agreed with the study that found female adult stars are more comfortable with their body image — especially those who are successful in the business. “We’re exposed all of the time without clothes. We couldn’t do that if we were insecure, and we couldn’t be successful,” Preston said.

When asked how she entered the industry, Preston recounted how she willfully left her stressful job as a skin care counter girl and was never coerced. She said was always curious about the sex industy and decided to begin stripping. During her travels she came upon a woman who asked if she'd consider doing porn. After giving it some thought she saw the opportunity to make money and build a career.

The star went on to say that she came from a great family, had no history of sexual abuse or drug addictions, didn’t come from a poor environment, and her family is supportive. “Porn has shaped who I’ve become as a person,” she said.

Preston did admit that some girls in porn have problems, but maintained that it happens in every industry and it's not the case with most successful porn stars.

Addressing the industry’s health concerns, Preston made it clear that talent is now tested for disease more often than before (every two weeks), and for the most part are more responsible due to the nature of the adult business. “We’re conditioned to be aware of the disease potential and we’re careful about sleeping with people outside of the industry,” she said.

Preston described porn as exciting and lucrative and noted that many women leave good careers to pursue adult jobs. She added that “creepy people” do not force women into porn, and a girl can learn a lot about herself if she makes the decision mindfully.
