LOS ANGELES — A new trailer has been released for director Paul Schrader and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis' "The Canyons," starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen.
The 90-second clip is shot in black-and-white and presented as a '50s-inspired crime noir. Unlike the first trailer that premiered last month, the new one includes dialogue from Lohan and Deen.
"The Canyons" tells the tale of young, wealthy Los Angelenos caught up in a life of excess. Deen plays arrogant trust fund baby and film producer Christian. Lohan is his girlfriend Tara, a former model willing to subject herself to Christian's abuse for the comforts he provides.
Deen, the 2010 XBIZ Performer of the Year and star of more than 2000 adult titles, was handpicked by Ellis ("American Psycho," "Less Than Zero") to star in Schrader's ("American Gigolo," "Cat People") film. Deen spoke about his casting with XBIZ TV in June.
"The Canyons" is produced by Braxton Pope ("Penny Dreadful") and costars Nolan Funk ("House at the End of the Street"), Amanda Brooks ("Chillerama") and director Gus Van Sant ("Milk," "Good Will Hunting").
