Dubbed “Double the fuck for your buck,” the bonus DVD incentive program will make use of both re-issues of VCA classics such as Michael Ninn’s “Cashmere” and Gregory Dark’s “The Creasemaster,” as well as four-hour compilations.
Why is VCA giving away product it could otherwise sell? “Because we can,” VCA Director of Production Bruce Whitney told XBIZ. “We’re trying to draw attention to our new releases and encourage customers to take a look at our titles. When they look at the shelves and realize, ‘Hey, I get a free DVD with this,’ it’s a real incentive to buy the title.”
Director of Sales David Diamond added that VCA also wanted to do something to support its retailers and distributors.
“We have so many titles,” he said, “so we decided to match up some of our newer titles with older titles and compilations that complement them. We’re not just throwing DVDs in together; we’re putting a lot of thought into matching up DVDs that work well together to give fans a real incentive to buy.”
The first double-DVD packages set for release include “Ghouls Gone Wild,” which comes with “VCA’s Gravest Hits,” and “Blonde Crack Attack,” bundled with “Anal Mania.”
