Jenna Jameson Ordered to Pay for Skipping Scheduled Appearances

WHEATON, Ill. — Former adult superstar Jenna Jameson has been ordered to pay the operator of two Illinois movie theaters $92,000 in a default judgment after being sued for failing to attend and promote her 2008 crossover horror comedy “Zombie Strippers!” at the theaters.

DuPage County District Judge Patrick Leston issued the judgment today in favor of Hollywood theaters owner Ted Bulthaup, who sued Jameson for breach of contract.

Jameson — who was to be paid $10,000 to attend and promote the movies at Hollywood Palms in Naperville, Ill., and Hollywood Blvd. in Woodridge, Ill., last year — did not attend the hearing.  Neither did any attorney on her behalf.

Jameson, citing sickness, canceled just days before the events, according to Bulthaup.

But later, he said, his staff later tracked down footage of her attending a birthday party for celebrity blogger Perez Hilton in Hollywood when she claimed to be ill.

Bulthaup was awarded $42,000 for lost ticket sales, lost food and beverage sales, marketing and nonrefundable airfare for Jameson and two of her assistants. He also was awarded $50,000 for lost publicity

Bulthaup estimated the value of lost publicity at nearly $248,000, but Leston called that figure “extraordinarily speculative," according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times.
