BURBANK, Calif. — Manwin USA will match any donation made to the "No on Government Waste" campaign, up to a total of $100,000.
"The contribution must come from a new donor, and be made within the next 48 hours," the adult entertainment conglomerate said. "Through this donation, Manwin USA would like to encourage those who have not contributed to the cause, to seriously consider doing so now — and benefit from having their donation make an even greater difference.
"Manwin USA would also like to use this opportunity to remind voters to vote no to Measure B. The company believes that Measure B’s program is severely flawed, will divert health and safety resources away from the local community, while driving away an estimated $1billion in economic tax benefit to the region.
"Measure B will have a detrimental effect on the local economy, while costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars."
No on Government Waste is attempting to topple the Measure B, or "Safer Sex, campaign set for a vote on Nov. 6.
Measure B, funded and placed on the ballot by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, would require the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to license and permit adult movie productions in the county and require performers to wear condoms and is likely to create an unworkable system of on-set inspections and enforcement by county personnel.
