CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Devil's Film has set a Nov. 15 release date for "Breaking Dawn: Part Two," the latest entry in its chart-topping "This Isn't the Twilight Saga" parody series.
"Our 'Twilight' series draws the same attention for Devil's Film as the actual franchise does for its mainstream audience," Devil's Film Sales Manager Steve Volponi told XBIZ.
"These movies appeal to the original's fans, to men and women and to people who normally don't watch porn. A husband can coax his wife to watch them after the kids go to sleep."
"Breaking Dawn: Part Two," a spoof on the fifth and final film in Summit Entertainment's "Twilight Saga," finds newly turned vampire and mother Bella and her husband and maker Edward calling on various vampire and werewolf clans to help protect their family against the Volturi.
The parody stars former Charlie Sheen "goddess" Capri Anderson as Bella, Chris Johnson as Edward and Tommy Hawke as werewolf Jacob. Costars include Dani Jensen, Hope Howell, Dillion Harper, Keni Styles, Daniel Hunter and Talon.
"I have a nice, tall stack of pre-orders on my desk," Volponi said. "Pre-orders are tripling and quadrupling on this title. People know it has cross-over flair, and we've timed its release to coincide with the [Summit Entertainment] film."
Devil's pre-orders have been so robust, it allowed for the company to make a significant donation to the No on Government Waste campaign against Measure B, the L.A. County initiative appearing on the Nov. 6 ballot that mandates condom use in adult productions.
"This is our business; all of our livelihoods. We can't just give in. We have to fight," Devil's Film's General Manager Eric Gutterman said. "We're happy to currently be in a position where we could help considerably, thanks in part to this 'Breaking Dawn' parody. Here's hoping for the best."
