LOS ANGELES — Noted gay director Chi Chi LaRue was rubbing elbows with the glitterati last weekend in downtown Los Angeles as he DJ’d a bash for Sir Elton John’s partner’s 50th birthday.
Surrounded by A-list stars including Johnny Depp, Victoria Beckham, Chris Brown, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Neil Patirck Harris, Elizabeth Hurley, and more, LaRue rocked the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles in celebration of David Furnish’s half-century milestone.
Also on hand was Playboy magazine’s Miss May 2012, Playmate Nikki Leigh.
The Channel 1 Releasing director and producer returned to active DJing in April 2010 after some "nick and tuck" surgery. Her birthday party tweet said, “What a magical glamorous night! Happy Birthday David Furnish! Thank you EJ for asking me to celebrate with you and be your DJ!!'
According to the Daily Mail, top chef Ludo Lefebvre catered the meal, and Circque de Soleil provided entertainment.
The soiree was part of a lavish four-day celebration that began last Thursday and culminated in Las Vegas to see Elton's Million Dollar Piano show at Caesars Palace along with a private after-party.
LaRue’s notoriety is apparently on Hollywood’s mind. Last April, writer and director Chad Darnell announced that he was making “The Porn Brat Pack,” a biopic on gay performer Joey Stefano that chronicles the star's battle with drugs and his relationship with LaRue.
