LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures has announced that Team Wicked has collected more than $16,000 in pledges to benefit the 28th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles walkathon fundraiser this Sunday.
AIDS Walk Los Angeles is California’s largest AIDS fundraising event. Proceeds benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other L.A. County organizations that offer care and treatment for people living with the disease.
Team Wicked’s involvement with the cause has been spearheaded by Wicked Pictures contract star and emerging sexual wellness authority Jessica Drake, who has participated in the annual walkathon for several years. For 2012, she’s expanded her involvement in the event through the formation of an alliance that includes her contract sisters Stormy Daniels, Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue as well as Brad Armstrong, Brandy Aniston, Kortney Kane, Keni Styles, Mark Nicholson, Rick Bailey, Barry Martinez and Patrick Spinella. In solidarity with their friends in the industry, Team Wicked will wear special “No on Measure B” t-shirts to voice their opposition to proposed legislation that would mandate the use of condoms and other products in adult films.
Thanks to Drake’s tireless efforts, Team Wicked has enjoyed near-permanent status on the AIDS Walk Los Angeles website’s “Top Teams” page, flying past teams formed by the likes of Paramount Pictures and the Fox Entertainment Group. Team rankings are updated daily and can be viewed here.
Drake said that with two days left to go it’s never too late to get involved, especially since this year’s fundraiser holds added personal significance. “Not only is this the third time I’ve participated in AIDS Walk, but this year it’s falling on my birthday," Drake revealed. "All I want this year is my fans’ support. It’s for a great cause, so donate today!”
Those interested in supporting Team Wicked with their own tax-deductible contributions are encouraged to click here to visit the group’s official page on the AIDS Walk Los Angeles website. Fans also have the option of supporting Drake individually; her personal page is located here.
"I’m thrilled that some of my closest friends and co-workers are going to be joining me in the fight against HIV and AIDS," Drake said. "There is strength in numbers, and I am very proud of Team Wicked.”
