According to Playboy Radio executive producer Farrell Hirsch, the broadcast from the Los Angeles Convention Center will mark the station’s first major special event.
“Listeners will be able to hear exactly what’s going on at the show,” Hirsch told XBIZ. “It’s a very big deal for us and our more than 1 million subscribers. We were already going to be at Erotica LA, so we thought it would be a good idea to broadcast the F.A.M.E. Awards as well.”
Details for the production are still in the works, according to Hirsch, but he said that Playboy Radio and Sirius have been actively promoting the broadcast.
“Listeners have been hearing a lot about this,” Hirsch said. “They are eager for this broadcast.”
Since joining forces with Sirius in March, Playboy Radio has seen a whole new world open up to it, Hirsch said.
“It’s been a real partnership in terms of marketing and public relations,” Hirsch said. “Howard Stern has been talking about how he enjoys listening to Playboy Radio, and there’s no better publicity than that.”
Comedian The Reverend Bob Levy, male performer Tommy Gunn and Adam & Eve contract star Carmen Luvana will host the F.A.M.E. Awards, set for June 24 at 9 p.m. PST.
Sirius listeners can tune in to hear the show on Playboy Radio, located on channel 198.
Winners of the F.A.M.E Awards will be selected entirely based on fan input, according to the event organizers.
