LOS ANGELES — Actress Agnes Bruckner, who had roles in TV’s “Private Practice,” “24” and soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” will portray Anna Nicole Smith in the Lifetime Network biopic of the late Playboy Playmate.
The “The Anna Nicole Story” will chronicle Vicky Lynn Hogan's (Smith’s real name) rise to fame from small town Texan to Guess model, Playmate, and finally star of The Anna Nicole Smith Show on E!
Smith died in 2007 of a drug overdose at age 39.
The movie is being produced by TV veterans Craig Zadan and Neil Meron of “Smash,” and “Drop Dead Diva” notoriety, along with Judith Verno from Sony Pictures Entertainment who produced “Drew Peterson: Untouchable.”
Hollywood scribes John Rice and Joe Batteer penned the script.
The Smith biopic is expected to dovetail nicely on the female-friendly network after the Elizabeth Taylor TV film “Liz & Dick,” debuts in November that stars Lindsay Lohan as Taylor.
