LOS ANGELES — A new feature film based on the extraordinary life of adult legend Vanessa del Rio is in the works.
Production comapny Doom Inc. said the movie will chronicle the star’s career that blossomed with films showing in New York City’s Times Square during the tumultuous ‘70’s and ‘80’s.
Filming will be done in both Los Angeles and New York and helmed by director Thomas Mignone, best known for the 2007 sexual abuse drama "On The Doll.”
Mignone has also directed music videos for bands including Slipknot, Danzig, System Of A Down and more, according to the Doom Inc. website
The beautiful but dilapidated theater district in downtown Los Angeles will serve as the backdrop for the burlesque and grind house theaters in Times Square.
Central to the film's story line are the federal government's relentless efforts to force the multiplicity of organized crime businesses out of New York and ultimately to the San Fernando Valley, while films and music lyrics were suddenly being censored, and politicians and adult-industry mavericks battled viciously in the courts and on the streets, the producers said.
The filmmakers said the biopic will be shot “through the eyes of a young, rebellious Vanessa del Rio, the ‘Latin From Manhattan.’”
Multiple opportunities exist for product placement and executive producer participation.
