NEW YORK — Lucas Entertainment will release on Sept. 28 writer and director Marc MacNamara’s “Awake,” a big-budget relationship drama shot on the Greek island of Mykonos.
To get fans excited about “Awake,” the studio has cut an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette that is now available at LucasBlog.com.
“Awake is my favorite story we’ve told, especially in terms of emotion and the love and sex between gay men,” MacNamara said. “Every so often I hear people comment, ‘why make these large, elaborate, big-budget productions when it’s just so guys can jerk off?’ But for me porn is not just about getting off, it's about relating to someone else with your desires and living through them.”
“Awake” finds young gay couple Jessy Ares and Jonathan Agassi trying to mend their damaged relationship by going on holiday to a beautiful island getaway. Plans fall apart, however, when a freak automobile accident lands Jonathan in the hospital and leaves Jessy in the company of Mitchell Rock, an island local eager to show him a good time.
“We don’t all fuck the pizza guy or the delivery boy,” MacNamara said. “But as men we have had the challenge of love and sex in real-life. If someone wants to get off then they want to be excited and ‘Awake’ does that like nothing else I’ve seen before.”
“Awake” costars Alex Marte, Edji Da Silva, Mathew Mason, Trenton Ducati and 2012 XBIZ Gay Performer of the Year Adam Killian. Part one of the film is currently available for members to view at LucasEntertainment.com.
