Under the terms of the deal, Nomad NetworX will develop and distribute Private’s content in the three territories for multiple media formats, including streaming mobile TV channels, video clips, games and wallpapers.
Private mobile content is available in 22 countries through 49 different mobile operators. The deal with Nomad NetworX gives Private access to an additional 50 million mobile users in those new countries.
“The Asia Pacific market is a real hot spot for the wireless industry right now,” said David Kane, research analyst for Wireless World Forum. “Rising data revenue will account for 61 percent of top-line growth by 2007 in Australia. Similarly, our data for the South African mobile market shows that there will be close to 30 million South African mobile phone owners by 2007.”
To take advantage of the potential in the Australian market, which does not allow hardcore content, Private has been building its softcore library, according to Tim Clausen, director of wireless for Private.
“Our expanding softcore library dramatically increases our content offering and facilitates our entry into any and every market,” Clausen said, adding that Private selected Nomad NetworX because the company is a well-known player in the region.
Nomad NetworX CEO Dan Rosen said he was pleased to be representing Private.
"We are thrilled to work with a world class brand like Private and bring some of the most recognized and high-quality adult content into this territory — arguably one of the world's most explosive mobile content markets today," Rosen said. "It is our goal to make Private one of the leading providers of mobile adult content in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa."
