With finalization of its state license imminent, Williams said, Black Widow Talent will be a fully bonded and licensed agency.
According to California state law, adult modeling agencies must be licensed and bonded.
“Few people seem to be aware that in California, only state-licensed talent agencies or attorneys can negotiate contracts and book talent legally,” Williams said.
The impetus for Williams to start his own agency came at the behest of friends looking to cast pornstars for mainstream gigs.
“I’ve been getting a lot of calls recently from my friends in the mainstream asking me for porn stars to audition for commercials and TV and movie roles,” Williams said. “I decided that the time was right to take on some talented adult actors and actresses and promote them into the mainstream side.”
Williams was previously director of sales and operations at Metro Interactive and was also COO of Private North America. Started in 2004, Black Widow Productions distributes both European and American adult video productions. Prominently featured in its catalog are German Goo Girls and Team Tyler Productions, run by porn star Tyler Faith and KSEX Radio porn-jockey Wankus.
