NEW YORK — Lucas Entertainment announced today that it has wrapped production on "Awake," a new big-budget drama from "Last Day" writer Marc MacNamara.
Shot on location on the Greek island of Mykonos, "Awake" stars Jessy Ares and Jonathan Agassi as a young gay couple trying to mend their damaged relationship by going on holiday to a beautiful island getaway.
Plans fall apart, however, when a freak automobile accident lands Jonathan in the hospital and leaves Jessy in the company of Mitchell Rock, an island local eager to show him a good time.
“Coming off of the great success that 'The Last Day' had, I wanted to do something completely different, MacNamara said. "I didn’t want to tell another story where people were killing each other or fighting for their lives. I wanted a clean shower from the blood baths that are going on in porn movies.
"I wanted to look inward to a place we all could relate to:man against himself. As it turns out this reflection into ourselves can get quite intense but if we open [our] eyes, we begin to feel everything. As men we can journey to another side of ourselves to uncover a heightened illusion of sex and passion we never knew."
"Awake" costars Alex Marte, Edji Da Silva, Mathew Mason, Trenton Ducati and 2012 XBIZ Gay Performer of the Year Adam Killian. Part one of the film will premiere for LucasEntertainment.com members on Sept. 14.
"Awake" arrives on DVD on Sept. 28.
