Organizers Report Successful AAE, 1st-Ever ILA

MACAU — Asia Adult Expo (AAE) and Intimate Lingerie Asia (ILA) wrapped a successful 2012 edition this past weekend.

Now in its fifth year, AAE organizers say the event moved toward a more professional tone this year, while ILA made its official debut.

“To cope with increasing demand for quality suppliers, AAE 2012 has gathered 30 percent of new international brands and Asian manufacturers on the fairground,” said Kenny Lo, chief executive of the event’s organizer. “The debut of ILA aims to provide a new platform for the lingerie industries to explore new business opportunities.”

AAE 2012 gathered 150 brands from 14 countries and regions. International brands like Pipedream Products, Shots Media, JOYDIVISION, Empowered Product, ABC Feeling, Electric Lingerie and Hustler Lingerie participated as exhibitors.

Organizers say that this year, AAE attracted more than 38,000 visitors which is approximately an 8 percent growth. Trade visitors from 38 countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, the Philippines, Turkey, Taiwan, U.S., and the U.K.

Among the special events that took place during AAE were performances by Australian Badboys and Aussie Bombshells and an on-site gallery by Pricasso. Divino Ultra Club from Macau brought their pole dance performance to the AAE stage as well, and SallyQ — a sex toy expert from Taiwan —shared her stories.

About the future plan of AAE, Wilson Tong, fairs director of the organizer, said that AAE Series will be the key concept of AAE: “Last year, AAE series would expand to Shenzhen. This year, we will launch AAE Taiwan which focused on the Taiwan local market.”

The first ILA was well-received, Tong said. “This is very encouraging and the team will work hard for the development of ILA.” According to organizers, they are already preparing for the 2013 edition of AAE and ILA with some exhibitors already planning their return.
