LOS ANGELES — Manwin today canceled its scheduled shoots and indicated further productions are on hold until adult performers can provide an STI test dated no sooner than Friday, Aug. 17.
The move came on the heels of a male performer in Los Angeles testing positive for syphilis on July 21 and continuing to work during the past three weeks, doing three different sex scenes with what two agents and a producer say was an altered STI test.
All performers working for Manwin's line of products will need a new test dated not sooner than Aug. 17 to work. Manwin's productions include the Brazzers network of sites, Twistys, Mofos and Digital Playground. Manwin spokesperson Kate Miller told XBIZ it was unclear when shooting would get underway again.
Today also marks the start of Adult Production Health and Safety Services' approved facilities adding a test for syphilis to its standard panel. APHSS announced the move on Thursday.
On Thursday, agents Shy Love and Derek Hay said they were in contact with the male performer who worked while knowingly positive, and were in the process of notifying other performers that may have been affected.
Dan Leal's Immoral Productions, which shoots regular live shows, on Friday also said it had canceled its schedule.
The @ImmoralLive Twitter feed said, "Going to go on the side of caution and cancel all live shows including today's until further notice."
