SPARKS, Nev. — Metis Black of Tantus Inc. has been selected as a presenter at CatalystCon in Long Beach, Calif.
The conference, which will be held Sept. 14-16, was created to inspire conversations about sexuality. An objective of the conference is for attendees to create those important conversations in their own communities, changing how society discusses and treats sexuality.
It is about stimulating activism and changing the way our friends, neighbors, children and even politicians discuss one of the most important aspects of humanity.
Black is presenting "Toxic Toys" and "Women in the Industry."
The conference also includes entertainment like storytelling and "dirty bingo," with prizes from Tantus.
Black founded and built Tantus Inc., an adult toy manufacturing company.
She has used Tantus to mainstream silicone products and educate the industry and consumers on material safety and sexuality.
Black's success has brought her accolades inside and outside her industry.
"Society's views on sexuality are changing with pop culture influencers such as 'Fifty Shades of Gray' and 'The Daily Show,' where a Tantus dildo was recently featured on a spinning wheel," Black said. "The conversations that happen at this conference help continue broadening attitudes about sex and that matches the company goals for Tantus perfectly."
