LOS ANGELES — Director Axel Braun is currently at work on Hustler Video’s “This Ain’t the Expendables XXX,” a spoof on the 2010 Sylvester Stallone actioner, set to street on Sept. 30.
The production, which flips the script on Stallone's original tale of male rogue mercenaries out to overthrow a dictator in Latin America by casting its leads as females, stars Kimberly Kane in the role of team leader and features a non-sex cameo by adult superstar Tera Patrick.
"The plot follows the storyline of the original movie; with the difference that all my 'Expendables' are hot chicks instead of aging action stars," Braun told XBIZ. "There are stunts, gunfights, explosions, and a lot of humor. To be honest, the original movie provided plenty of material for a parody."
Costarring in the film are fan favorites Andy San Dimas, Brooklyn Lee, London Keyes, newcomer Ana Foxxx and veteran stunner Kylie Ireland.
"I just wanted gorgeous girls who could seriously kick ass, or at least that looked like they could," Braun said. "Kim Kane was the obvious choice to play the leader of the pack, and she did an amazing job with her character."
Braun also had kind words for Patrick, who cameos in the parody as Stallone's rival mercenary played by action star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original. The part marks Patrick's first appearance in front of adult cameras in six years.
"It was very special. Tera and I have been friends a long time, and when I decided to shoot this movie I thought it would be awesome to have her do a cameo," Braun said. "Her charisma and her astonishing beauty definitely elevate the tone of this project, and her presence on set was delightful. She came prepared, conducted herself with her typical approachable professionalism and sprinkled some of that magic Tera Patrick stardust on the whole cast and crew."
But unlike Schwarzenegger, who returns in a much bigger role in this summer's "Expendables 2," don't expect Patrick to do the same should there be a sequel to Braun's parody.
"As far as playing a bigger role in the sequel, I can tell you that Tera is happier than ever being a stay-at-home mom, and that this was just a wonderful gift to an old friend," Braun said.
