LOS ANGELES — Adult star Katsuni is suing rap artist Bow Wow for allegedly stealing the dance routine she created and performed in the music video "The Conspiracy Strip Club" for French outfit The Electric Conspiracy.
According to CourthouseNews.com, Katsuni claims in the lawsuit that Bow Wow uses 80-seconds of her dance moves in his two-minute-plus video for "Drank In My Cup," the first track from his upcoming release "Underrated."
Bow Wow allegedly posted the "Drank In My Cup" video on his official YouTube page on April 20 and linked to it on his Twitter account.
She is suing Bow Wow and his label Universal Music Group for more than $75,000, citing punitive damages for publicity rights violations, unfair business practices, false association and unjust enrichment.
The lawsuit states that "at no time did plaintiff permit footage of her dance performance in the Electronic Conspiracy music video to be used for any other purpose or in conjunction with any other musician other than Electronic Conspiracy."
Katsuni spoke to XBIZ in March about her performance in The Electric Conspiracy video and told Executive Managing Editor Dan Miller that she "fell in love" with the song and enjoyed the freedom the band had given her during the shoot.
"I was free to say what I wanted or not, to dress the way I wanted and create my own routine around the pole," she said. "We all trusted each other and in the end, we are all very happy of the result."
Katsuni is represented in the lawsuit by David Pierce of Beverly Hills.
