Shaw, a 15-year veteran of adult films, has performed and directed for companies such as Falcon, Catalina and Studio 200.
“My Undoing” is not Shaw’s first published work. He has a long list of writing credits, with two books of poetry and three novels, including “Wasted,” “Looking for meaning” and “Brutal.”
Shaw says in “My Undoing” that he has no regrets about his career, writing candidly about his HIV status and drug use, rocky and unfulfilling relationships, as well as his Irish Catholic family’s reaction to his life in porn and his temporary paralysis following a car accident in Brussels, Belgium. The book is interlaced with graphic descriptions of Shaw’s experiences as a sex worker.
“I want my books to show that it's okay to do drugs, have sex and have a wild lifestyle,” Shaw has said. “You can still find love and cultivate profound friendships.”
Like many performers in the gay adult film industry, Shaw got his start working with Chi Chi LaRue. His movie credits include “Roll in the Hay” and “Grease Guns,” among a very long list of titles.
