NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A new Kickstarter-like platform for adult will launch on Aug. 10 by novelty manufacturer Ntimate, Inc.
"FleshStarter.com" has been in development for more than a year and is intended to complement existing crowdfunding sites, such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, that bar participation by adult oriented projects, according to the company.
The website will provide the all-or-nothing funding technique used by Kickstarter, will host pitch videos produced by project creators, and will deliver features expected of a modern commercial crowdfunding platform.
"Entrepreneurs in the adult, LGBT, and other marginalized categories presently shut out of existing crowdfunding opportunities can find an enthusiastic home for those same projects on FleshStarter," Jack Campbell, Ntimate CEO said.
He added, "We will be offering a curated site where each project will be reviewed by our team prior to launching, where each project creator will be identity-verified, and where other measures will be in place to create the sort of secure, safe platform that Internet users expect. We believe the emphasis on quality and integrity will play well in the adult community and will lead to terrific success for our site and for our project creators."
FleshStarter will feature each project with a main project image and short PG-rated description suitable for public view. Access to the site interior, including the detailed project pages, pitch videos, and project descriptions will require visitors to pass through a site registration process that includes age verification. Fully explicit content is permitted in this age restricted interior site area providing it is fully legal in the U.S.
The platform functions very similarly to Kickstarter where a funding goal is posted, specific rewards are offered at varying pledge amounts, and, the pledged funds are only collected and disbursed if the project meets or exceeds its funding goal. If the funding goal is not met, no payments are processed.
Inquiries from project creators are now being accepted. The site will open to these initial creators the first week of August so they can be preparing their project page, getting their pitch video done, and fine tuning their project for the official public launch.
Project submissions in the following categories are being accepted: Art & Anime, Fashion, Film & Video, Fringe & Oddities, Internet, Photography, Publishing, Theater & Events, Toys & Novelties.
Those interested in posting a project should visit FleshStarter.com or email info@fleshstarter.com.
