RESEDA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films and adult star Angela Sommers are supporting Doctors Without Borders with a $1,000 donation.
The medical relief organization is the July selection from Girlfriends Films’ charity program, as chosen by Sommers.
Doctors Without Borders brings quality medical care to people in over 60 countries affected by crisis, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. Girlfriends Films calls on its strong community of fans and followers to join Sommers in assisting Doctors Without Borders’ mission.
Donations of all sizes may be made directly to Doctors Without Borders here.
“I choose to give my Girlfriends Films donation to Doctors Without Borders,” Sommers said. “I only wish I had the skills and knowledge of a doctor to be able to help people in need of health care. I can't stand how health care is a business — a large and profitable one. I don't think it should be treated that way at all! I know doctors need to make a living and should be respected for the years of education they put in, but everyone deserves the right to be healthy and to be helped, no matter how much money they make.
“A doctor helping those in need for nothing in return, despite the risk to themselves, is probably one of the most beautiful and selfless things anyone can do. Everyone needs to help each other more in this world and stop being so selfish. People who donate to this organization help pay for doctors' travel expenses to third world countries to help people in need. With this donation, I am happy to join the others who help facilitate health care of the disadvantaged and needy.”
