SAN FRANCISCO — Discounted tours to Kink.com are now available for purchase through the San Francisco Gate's Daily Deals website. The promotion comes a month after the studio was dropped by online discounter Groupon.com.
Headquartered in San Francisco's historic Mission District building, a 200,000 square foot reproduction of a Moorish castle once used as the city's National Guard Armory, Kink first opened its doors to visitors in 2011, offering 90-minute tours of the five-story landmark at $60 apiece.
This year, the BDSM giant aligned itself with Groupon to provide money-saving deals to online shoppers. The promotions triggered an outcry from the Christian right group Morality in Media, which immediately launched a boycott against Groupon for "selling coupons supporting the degradation of women."
On June 6, the company removed Kink.com's tour deals and announced that they would not be taking on any adult merchants.
Tickets to tour Kink.com can now be purchased at SFGateDailyDeals.com for $25 each. The deal is available through July 11. Those looking for a more hands-on experience can also take advantage of Kink's Strap-on Play 101 with Rain DeGrey workshop class. Tickets are $35.
