CANADA — Webcam performer and NHL fan Taylor Stevens announced today that she has raised $1000 for charity after auctioning off the tops she wore during Game 4 and Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals between the LA Kings and the New Jersey Devils.
Stevens, a former BBW model who lost 180-pounds and is currently battling Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, made national headlines on June 6 when NBC cameras caught her eye-popping 36-HH's pressed up against the glass behind Devils' coach Pete DeBoer. The video immediately went viral, making Stevens a household name among sports fans.
Stevens, who returned to the Los Angeles Staples Center on June 11 to watch the Kings defeat the Devils 6-to-1 for their first Stanley Cup victory, put her tops up for auction on eBay to raise money and awareness for the Lymphoma Society and the Obesity Society. The tops were purchased by long-time Stevens admirer B. Coyle for $1000.
"I became a fan of Taylor and started following her shortly after her diagnosis," Coyle said. "She is one of the most entertaining, inspiring, hardworking, genuine and down-to-earth people I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with — beautiful inside out. Taylor never takes a 'poor me' attitude with the battles she’s faced and is facing. This was an easy decision for me. To put a smile on her face while doing good for others would be replicating everything she does every day. Now I get to own two pieces of history and her history."
