LOS ANGELES — "Canyons" costars James Deen and Lindsay Lohan were photographed together Sunday night outside the Churchill restaurant in Los Angeles, where they dined with screenwriter Brett Easton Ellis.
Deen and Lohan topline "The Canyons" as Los Angelenos caught up in a life of dangerous excess. Deen plays arrogant trust fund baby and film producer Christian; Lohan portrays his girlfriend Tara, a former model who "has sold her pride for the material comforts Christian can provide."
The psycho-sexual thriller is penned by Ellis, author of "American Psycho," "Less Than Zero" and "Rules of Attraction." Attached to direct is "Taxi Driver" scribe Paul Schrader, who also wrote and directed 1979's "Hardcore," about a father looking for his runaway daughter in L.A.'s porn industry and the 1980 male-prostitute crime-drama "American Gigolo."
Deen, who was hand-picked for the role of Christian by Ellis, is the 2010 XBIZ Male Performer of the Year and the star of more than 2000 adult titles. He spoke with XBIZ TV about his "Canyons" casting earlier this month.
Deen and Lohan were photographed taking a cigarette break outside of the Chruchill restaurant on Sunday by 17Online.com.
Production on "The Canyons" begins on July 9.
