LOS ANGELES — Shy Love, owner of Adult Talent Managers, is asking all adult performers, producers and agents to attend a follow-up meeting on Thursday, July 19, to discuss the issue of performer testing.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at Hustler's studio in Chatsworth.
"This is an open forum and an open meeting so that when talent comes into this business and is looking at everything, they should be making their own decisions," Love told XBIZ Monday. "The purpose of this meeting is to educate talent about what’s going on and let them make their own decisions about what they want."
Love said she is also inviting representatives from the adult industry's major STI testing labs, as well as the news media, to be at the gathering. She said she was in the process of contacting Talent Testing Service, Cutting Edge Testing and Advanced Medical Testing Center to request their attendance.
"We will have every lab there, so they all can speak regarding what their services are," she said.
Love said that Free Speech Coalition and Adult Performer Health & Safety Services (APHSS) have also been asked to attend.
Last Tuesday Love hosted a private meeting of a couple dozen industry producers to talk about testing procedures, sparking a week of differing public opinions about which lab and which HIV test performers should be using.
“I’m not against FSC,” Love said. “We just don’t want this to be a he-said, she-said.”
The former performer and veteran agent said that she set the meeting for July 19 to give everyone ample time to prepare and make arrangements to be there.
