NEW YORK — The CineKink film festival kicks off its annual national tour in Las Vegas, June 7-9.
The kink-centric event will have screenings at theatre7, at 1406 South Third Street in the city’s growing arts-friendly downtown.
Organizers said the festival will offer a specially-curated program of films and videos that celebrate and explore a wide and exciting world of sexual diversity, with works ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — and everything in between.
Among the headliners, first up on Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. is “Cabaret Desire,” set against "a sumptuous Barcelona backdrop," that weaves together four erotic tales of intimacy, love, passion and sex.
On June 8, at 7 p.m., “Stage Brother” follows the quest of a young woman as she travels west to fulfill her dreams of making it in the world of adult entertainment. At 9 p.m. that evening, hijinks ensue in “Sweet Prudence & The Erotic Adventure of Bigfoot,” when the mythical beast is spotted at a remote nudist resort. And at 11 p.m., two Bolivian strangers participate in their own kinky version of a “Sirwiñakuy,” an indigenous tradition where a man brings home a trial “wife.”
“Kink & Kinship” screens on June 9, at 3 p.m. with a program of short works that celebrate the special sense of community a shared kink tends to engender. At 5 p.m., the “Sex & Las Vegas” panel discussion begins, focusing on sex and sex culture in the so-called “Sin City.” And at 7 p.m., the “Best if Cinekink 2012” rounds out the festivities with a selection of award-winning shorts deemed the year’s best.
Ticket prices for each regular screening are $10 at the door and $8 in advance. Admission to the panel discussion is free, with RSVP suggested.
An All-Access Pass, covering admission to all six regular screening programs and the panel discussion, is available in advance for $40; $30 for students/seniors; $25 for CineKinksters & Friends w/Benefits (CineKink donors).
This year’s national tour was sponsored by Crystal Delights, KinkyMedical.net, National Coalition for Sexual Freedom and njoy.
