“The arrival of the home party created a huge explosion in the adult novelty business,” Chad Braverman, Doc Johnson’s manager of product design and licensing, told XBIZ. “We ideally envision these products grouped into a kit, so we included many various products for female stimulation. All the bases are covered.”
The collection consists of three vibrating novelties, various flavored lubricants, body gels, crèmes and a pink love mask. Packaging for Naughty Secrets plays up its feminine slant with pink boxcover themes and a seductively coy logo. All items include the word “desire” in their names.
“We wanted to create a feel for this line that was sensual and seductive without being explicit,” Braverman said. “All our packaging for Naughty Secrets is mainstream-friendly.”
The highlight of the collection is a unique version of Doc Johnson’s best-selling Pocket Rocket, renamed “Devices of Desire.” The new edition is the first to feature Velvet Touch, which is a velveteen surface that is soft and smooth. All vibrating novelties in the line have a Velvet Touch surface.
“The pocket rocket was a definite inclusion [to Naughty Secrets],” Braverman said. “It was everyone’s first idea. The original Pocket Rocket has been often imitated but never duplicated.”
The collection’s other two vibrators are the Inner Desire, a waterproof multi-speed vibrating egg, and the 7” Burning Desire, a variable speed vibe with a twist-dial controller.
With this launch, Doc Johnson hopes to create a separate but easily identifiable product extension to its hardcore catalog. Braverman said he hopes people will recognize the Doc Johnson name on Naughty Secrets items and visit an adult shop based on the association.
“I hope the people that bought our softcore, mainstream line will go to an adult shop or online to check out our original hardcore novelties that Doc Johnson is famous for.
The Naughty Secrets products are available only for purchase online with mainstream retail placement forthcoming, the company said.
