CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Smash Pictures is bolstering it romance line with “The Notebook, A XXX Romance Parody.”
The new film comes on the heels of wrapping “Forever Love-Trust,” its first movie in the newly adopted category.
Smash vice president Stuart Wall said the company is now ready to dive head first into the genre and spoof what The Boston Globe called the most popular romance film of all time.
“This is the story of a country boy who meets a city girl, with nothing in common until they meet and true love is struck...based on the best selling novel by Nicholas Sparks.”
The movie will recreate engagement and amusement park memory scenes, similar to the mainstream production.
Smash said production is scheduled to begin in May.
“Recreating the couples' time in a rowboat on the water, to a Ferris wheel at an amusement park are just two magical scenes we’re anticipating,” Wall said.
Casting starts next week. Wall said talent who feel they fit the bill should send a headshot to Stuart@smashpictures.com.
