BURBANK, Calif. — Smash Pictures, producer of "An American Werewolf in London XXX," is howling with excitement over the photo opportunity seized at Monsterpalooza this weekend when the company's FX technician met "An American Werewolf in London" star David Naughton.
"They met at [Monsterpalooza] this past weekend and [David Naughton] was more than pleased to sign our parody version," Smash Pictures Vice President Stuart Wall told XBIZ. "We even gave him a copy of the DVD and he wrote back saying how much he loved it!"
Smash Pictures released "An American Werewolf in London XXX" earlier this year to tremendous sales and positive feedback, including an Editor's Choice review from XBIZ.
The Jim Powers-directed spoof stars Richie and Dane Cross as David Kessler and Jack Goodman, two American college buddies attacked by a werewolf while backpacking through England’s Yorkshire moors.
David Naughton played the lead role of Kessler in the 1981 John Landis original. According to Wall, Landis is also "pleased" with Smash's parody, but the line to take a picture with him at the convention was just too long to endure.
