Dragon will take over the directorial duties of Brian Mills, who was previously Titan’s lead director for ManPlay, a mid-priced product line housed within Titan’s San Francisco offices and parent company Io Group.
Mills, who is a 2006 GAYVN Hall of Fame inductee, will instead focus on the growth and development of Titan’s new TitanMen Fresh line geared at younger audiences.
Both the ManPlay and Fresh lines are distributed via DVD, video-on-demand, pay-per-view, wireless, print and the Internet.
Titan CEO Bruce Cam applauded having Dragon become a more significant part of Titan Media.
“I have personally known Ray for many years, both in front and behind the camera, and know that he will make a huge contribution to the continued success of the ManPlay line of films,” Cam said.
Dragon’s first film, “Boot Camp: ManPlay 24,” touches on the new direction the ManPlay line is taking, which will focus more on “gritty, urban and masculine all-sex features.” The film will be available for North American and European wholesale release on June 27.
Dragon also will focus his creative efforts on the film style of the all-sex loop films of the 1970s.
“The focus will be on the hottest men in raw and unscripted sexual escapades,” a Titan representative said.
Dragon got his start in the gay adult industry with COLT Studios in 1990. More than a decade later, he starred in a Titan Media-produced feature titled “Gorge,” in addition to starring in films for his own production company, Dragon Media.
