LAS VEGAS — A documentary film about the life of iconic pin-up and fetish model Bettie Page is set to premiere in Las Vegas at the Orleans hotel during the city’s Rockabilly events April 5-8.
The 100-minute movie,“Reveals All” also features model and burlesque star Dita Von Teese, photographer Bunny Yeager, actress-model Rebecca Romijn, pinup artist Olivia and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.
According the Las Vegas Sun's Robin Leach, Page, aka “The Dark Angel,” narrated part of the movie before her death at 85 in December 2008.
Directed by Emmy Award winner Mark Mori, the film is said to be the only authorized biography of Page’s life. The director said his movie is “steeped in mirth, mayhem and mystery, but explains why so many stars — Madonna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, among them — along with fashion designers, artists and movie producers were influenced by Bettie’s joyful sexual freedom.”
After vanishing in 1979, Page was tracked down by Leach, then producer of TV's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" in 1993. The former siren was living in a trailer park outside of L.A. with no idea of her cult following.
The then overweight Page only agreed to a telephone interview with Leach, but the newfound notoriety ignited the resurrection of her career that spawned a host of Page products from lingerie to chocolate bars.
A more confident Page later managed a reunion with Hefner at the Playboy mansion.
Burlesque legend Tempest Storm is slated to attend the premiere, along with Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair, who is the face and spokesmodel for Bettie Page Clothing. Leach has agreed to make an introduction about his search for the iconic star before the film begins.
An April 6 VIP celebration and Bettie Page look-alike contest is also on tap.
