LONDON — Apple has rejected a proposed iPhone app that depicts geometric shapes doing the horizontal mambo. Created by visual artist Luciano Foglia as an "game of optical art," Geometric Porn was banned from Apple's App Store for content deemed "excessively objectionable" and "crude."
Posted on Foglia’s website is Apple’s statement: Apps that present excessively objectionable or crude content will be rejected. We found that many audiences would find your app concept objectionable, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Geometric Porn, which allows users to manipulate circles, triangles, rectangles and rhombi to simulate acts of sex, is described by Foglia as “visual geometry containing the non-explicit description of sexual organs or activity. Arising in the mind, it intends to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings.”
