ANDERSON, IN. — Amber Portwood, star of the MTV reality series “Teen Mom,” is reconsidering the $500,000 offer that Vivid Entertainment first made to her in 2011 to perform in an adult video. Unfortunately for Portwood, that ship may have sailed.
Portwood, the most emotionally unstable cast member on “Teen Mom,” a spin-off of MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” that follows four young mothers as they learn to raise their children through struggle and sacrifice — and a reported $280,000 paycheck — was released from jail in February, after serving time for a drug-related probation violation.
According to the celebrity website HollywoodLife.com, Portwood now needs extra income to pay off her numerous legal bills (she also did time for beating up her husband in 2010). With her “Teen Mom” gig coming to a close this year, the 21-year-old is said to be contemplating Vivid’s previous offer to star in an adult feature.
On Wednesday, HollywoodLife spoke with Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch to see if the company still harbored an interest in producing a Portwood video. While Hirsch’s answer wasn’t a resounding no, he did make it clear that Portwood’s value had dropped considerably for the studio, which is home to Vivid Celeb videos featuring Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson and Tila Tequila, among others.
“We would not be willing to pay Amber $500,000 anymore,” Hirsch told the site. “I don’t believe she is as popular as she once was. She was more of a novelty.”
